It's moldy-oldie Monday! Here's one from my cheery college days. A high-speed Schlieren photograph of a .22 caliber projectile launcher "Stan" (and if you look closely on the left, the projectile).

Cavity Sam is appalled at the outrageous price of gas across the street. No cheesy filters here! This was taken with a homemade pinhole 'lens' for my DSLR on a Photowalk in 2012 in Urbanna, VA.

This is a color infrared image made with 120 Ektachrome Infrared (EIR). Just kidding...it's just more cheesy filters and my smartphone's camera.

If you looked at the subtitle of this blog or read the bio on the right, you might know (or guess) I'm a photographer at a museum. Yippee. Here are some photos that are slightly more related to that area of my "expertise."

Funny story (not really)...these three were envisioned and created as a series...almost, but not quite a triptych...meant to be displayed together. They are red, green, and blue versions of the same boat. For whatever reason, only the blue and green versions were displayed by the curator when these were on exhibit. Go figure.

This is the blue (sorta, kinda) one. It was one of the images used for promotion of the exhibit, so you may remember it from it's brief blast all over the intertubes in 2007...like here.  No? Oh well.

Um, this is the green one.

And I know you won't believe this, but this is the poor, lonely, forgotten red one.

Sometimes I'll take an otherwise unremarkable photograph and try to rescue it by using all kinds of cheesy filters. Here is a fantastic watercolour-ish "painting" of Mr. Magnum.  He's in doggie heaven now, but I'll always have this (now) remarkable photo to remember him by.

A moody panorama of the Mattaponi River. You can just feel the mood, can't you? Yes, you can.
