Untitled...and sad.

You may (or may not) remember back in October, I went on one of those Worldwide Photo Walks (WWPW) in Smithfield, VA. Well now (and over the next few weeks) I'm going to post a few more pics from that. Here is the first one...looking straight down on some marsh grass. I know you are disappointed that I didn't come through with any turkey pictures. Sorry.

That would be a cool fabric...maybe the turkey is hiding in there?:)

The World as I See It

What you see here is the world as I see it. Often it will resemble the world as you see it. Occasionally it will bear no resemblance to any world you've seen. I photograph things I like, or things I dislike, or things I am indifferent about. Sometimes what I see in my mind and what the camera captures don't match. If I want them to match I will use various tools to make that happen. Each of these images speaks to me in one way or another. They may or may not speak to you. (if you think they are actually speaking to you, may I suggest you seek help) I hope you find some joy, interest, or even disgust...if any feeling is evoked at all, then I have succeeded, if only in some small bit.

About the Photographer

Jason Copes is the Collections Photographer for a large colonial history foundation in Williamsburg, Virginia. A graduate of Brooks Institute of Photography, specializing in Industrial and Scientific Photography (they got to play with the coolest toys), his work has appeared in numerous exhibits, publications, websites, documentaries and even feature films. His professional work consists mainly of studio work, flat artwork, and interiors/gallery space. As for his personal work, he is mainly known for his eerie and surreal night photography, although he occasionally gets out in the daylight hours to find things to photograph. He strongly dislikes photographing weddings, so don't even ask.
