Happy Anniversary to me.

It has been exactly one year since my first post on this blog. Kudos to me for (somewhat) regularly posting! So in recognition of that very first post some 365 days ago...here it is again, in one of my new mandala-y things. As always, you can buy a copy for yourself if you click on the image.

X-tremely untitled.

This is made from a really old...possibly older than any other photo I have posted here, or at least AS old. From my college days, this is a shadowgraph of a .22 caliber "projectile" (bullet) going through a line of wooden matchsticks. Again, should you want to adorn yourself, your phone, your home, your office or any(place, thing , one) all you need to do is click on the image.

Untuliped.

I thought we'd ease back into the mandala-y things. This is a colonial garden with tulips and stuff. I'm pretty sure you need this in your life, so just click on it and buy it on something.

Mighty untitled.

Enough mandala-y things for a now...don't worry, they will be back. (probably next time). This is one of those things I just kinda made out of thin air. I think it looks like muscle fibers. I'm sure it would look gorgeous somewhere in your home/car/office...click on it if you think so, too.

While I'm on the Zion Canyon kick...here is another made from a photo of Checkerboard Mesa. It looks really great as an accent rug...click on it to see what I mean.

It is next to impossible to see any of the source photograph in this design, so you'll just have to trust me when I tell you it is from one of my trips across country...my last one actually. It is a black & white infrared shot taken at Zion National Park, in the vicinity of Checkerboard Mesa. Untitled...or Marigold Mandala...whichever.

I have come to learn that these spinny, kaleidoscope-y things are mandalas (or at least in the style of).  I have made a bunch because they are fun and (relatively)easy. So get ready to see a bunch of them. This one is made from a photo I took of a marigold (I think). The "source material" for this may have been was posted before..I can't remember. I'm not going to tell you what it is, see if you can figure it out.

I snapped a pic of a foxglove (weird looking flower...but not THAT weird) and turned it into weirder looking flower.

A bunch of swirly blue lines.

Here is one of my "out of thin air" pieces...my first post here that is not either a photograph or made from a photograph. I like playing with the "wave" and "liquefy" filters in Photoshop. Once you get the hang of them, they are a lot of fun and give you a pretty big bang for the buck.

Different beans.

It might be hard to see, but these are sacks upon sacks upon pallets of coffee beans.

...well maybe not COMPLETELY.

I think, but I'm not sure, and I am FAR too lazy to check, that I may have posted the original version of this image. Of course, this is the staircase inside the Currituck lighthouse. So what is COMPLETELY different is that I have begun to transmogrify a selected few of my photographs into even more abstract artsy-fartsy things. SO, for the next several posts, I'll be posting that stuff. And maybe, if you are really nice, I'll post some original artwork I made from scratch. If you can't stand waiting, there should be one of those annoying banner-like ads on the right...near the bottom. That will take you to a Society6 shop that features all of my current work (that I have posted there...not everything from this blog is there and vice-versa).

Creepy skull & crossbones at the foot (head?) of a really old sarcophagus thing in an old colonial cemetery. Happy Presidents Day!
